June 2018 MID Week Drive:
Wednesday, 20th June 2018
Wisemans Ferry is a small, historic riverside village located at the Northern end of Old Northern Road on a sweeping bend of the Hawkesbury River.
As we are travelling from different directions, there will be two options for meeting points. Please choose the one that suits you best:
Option 1: If coming from the north, meet Marg and Geoff Smith at 10am at The Corrugated Café, 780 Peats Ridge Road Peats Ridge; OR
Option 2: If travelling from Sydney, meet Muriel and Ray Roberts at 10.30 am at McDonalds on the corner of Old Northern Road and New Line Road, Dural.
Option 1: From the North, leave the café at 10.30 and follow the Smiths through the townships of Mangrove Mountain and Spencer before taking the ferry across the river into the township of Wisemans Ferry.
Option 2: Leaving Dural at 11am, Ray Roberts will lead the drive along Pitt Town Road and Wisemans Ferry Road into Wisemans Ferry.
We will be lunching at Wisemans Inn Hotel, 5545 Old Northern Road, Wisemans Ferry. The hotel was once the grand old residence of Solomon Wiseman. Built in 1826 by convict labour, it is constructed from hand-honed Hawkesbury sandstone and now forms the main part of the hotel.
