DESTINATION

Wisemans Ferry is a small, historic riverside village located at the Northern end of Old Northern Road on a sweeping bend of the Hawkesbury River.

 

MEETING POINT/S

As we are travelling from different directions, there will be two options for meeting points. Please choose the one that suits you best:

 

Option 1: If coming from the north, meet Marg and Geoff Smith at 10am at The Corrugated Café, 780 Peats Ridge Road Peats Ridge; OR

 

Option 2: If travelling from Sydney, meet Muriel and Ray Roberts at 10.30 am at McDonalds on the corner of Old Northern Road and New Line Road, Dural.

 

ROUTE/S

Option 1: From the North, leave the café at 10.30 and follow the Smiths through the townships of Mangrove Mountain and Spencer before taking the ferry across the river into the township of Wisemans Ferry.

 

Option 2: Leaving Dural at 11am, Ray Roberts will lead the drive along Pitt Town Road and Wisemans Ferry Road into Wisemans Ferry.

 

LUNCH

We will be lunching at Wisemans Inn Hotel, 5545 Old Northern Road, Wisemans Ferry. The hotel was once the grand old residence of Solomon Wiseman. Built in 1826 by convict labour, it is constructed from hand-honed Hawkesbury sandstone and now forms the main part of the hotel.

Come along for a fun and friendly run on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (February to November). Additional details will be given each month at the Club meeting the week preceding the run, as well as being posted on the website & included in the newsletter.

A scenic drive will be planned from Terry Hills to Newport via McCarrs Creek before arriving at the Royal Motor Yacht Club to enjoy some lunchtime refreshments.

  • Due to extenuating circumstances, sometimes destinations may need to be altered. Any changes will be notified at the meeting, on the website and in the newsletter.
  • Cancellations may occasionally occur due to inclement weather.
  • The organisers are always keen to learn of new drives and venues. Please don’t hesitate to share your great ideas!
